Drake Got a Nose Job?!?

Finally, hip-hop blessed us with extremely personal, iconic, sincere beef. Drake went after EVERYONE in his diss track “Push Ups (Drop and Give Me 50).” The title refers to Kendrick Lamar who gets robbed on 50% of his royalties by his TDE label boss. Drake also attacked Future, Metro Boomin, Rick Ross, A$AP Rocky, Travis Scott, basically “half the rap game,” as Complex put it in their detailed breakdown. This was a response to Kendrick, Future and Metro Boomin diss track “Like That.”
This landed in my life last night around 10pm or 11pm via this TikTok of Akademiks reacting to Rick Ross’ clapback to Drake, which Ross responded to within 2 hours of Drake’s track being out:

What did we just hear? Drake had a nose job?!!!!? He involved cops via a C&D on a French Montana album!? Ross is no longer following him on socials cuz French is his boy!? Drake’s been wearing those weird suits cuz he got fat post-ab surgery? (And is being called out by, of all people, big body Rozay, hilarious).
After the Bawse posted the track, called “Champagne Moments,” (full audio below), he posted an Instagram story of himself laughing, giggling, wheezing for 10 seconds. INCREDIBLE. Today, he’s taken to calling Drake “BBL DRIZZY” accompanied by the nose emoji. So far, Drake shared a screenshot of a text exchange with his MOM about the beef. When everyone already calls you out (for years!) for “acting like a female,” this definitely wasn’t the coolest. But, SO ON POINT FOR HIM.
In a comment section, I saw, “Mediafire beef is back!” YUP! Early Y2K feels. I felt absolutely ignited by this and have been fired up all day. It’s a very specific thrill I don’t get from anything else. TikTok’s endless looping at last provides the greatest value; I’ve watched the clip up top SO many times!
While my Substack isn’t for hip-hop coverage, my love for hip-hop runs way too deep to ignore this clearly epic moment in time. It brings me back to the same feeling I had in 2007 when Cam’ron called into Hot97 to beef with 50 Cent live on-air, only this is way bigger cuz it involves many more main players.

Prior to the Rick Ross diss drop, A$AP Rocky let us know he slept with Drake’s baby mama first (it was old news, since they were seen together long ago). I’m glad he said it, because Drake’s been out here hooking up all his homies’ women FOREVER (Lil Wayne, hello!), including The Weeknd’s chick (yup, The Weeknd had to diss Drake too!).
What is his deal with women? No time to unpack, but I’ll say this: Something felt more disturbed about him in 2020 when he decided, based on nothing, that Megan Thee Stallion was lying about getting shot in her feet by Tory Lanez. He went out his way to call Megan a liar for it on a 2022 track and diss her at his concerts. He keeps supporting Lanez, who was sentenced to 10 years in prison for it.
Drake sounds pretty lost in the sauce to me. Let’s see what happens next…
