My 2023 Theme was Spontaneous Flow and it was great. Glad to hear your Reconnection was a success. Still have 4 days in 2023 to enjoy our themes.

Each day I began with a practice of morning rituals but I allowed them to flow without a timeline or order. I usually accomplished all that I set out to do (but not always; I didn't sweat the small stuff). I read a lot, I wrote a lot, I had a lot of solitude (in a good way), I did most of my housework, kept track of my business, but mostly worked on unfolding a new phase of my life. Who yet knows where that is taking me? And most consuming these past 7 months, has been my study of Korean. Like I said, no timeline, just absorbing the language at my own rate and learning whatever I can about Korea. That is how I found your Substack. I read LASeoulite, and I think that is where I came across your name. Anyway, my theme for 2024 is looking a bit different from 2023s, although I intend to keep the foundation of spontaneous flow in my life. PS - I once lived in Boston. Haven't been back for maybe 40 years.

your description of your year and your mindset resonates with me. i certainly found myself embracing the solitude of my 'new life' out of the city. new phases are the best! and i admire that you are up for the adventure. that is awesome you study korean. i have only briefly tried it on duolingo (ha), but it would be so cool to connect with my original culture in that way.

my entry point to substack was LASeoulite and K-Culture with Jae-Ha Kim. i was likely in the comments on either one of those :) so educational and i didn't realize it was possible to get such a valuable peek into korean culture.

i think i'll take your spontaneous flow theme into 2024 with me! so inspiring, thanks! boston - haha you're not missing much. although i've taken the train into boston over the past decade+ i have barely spent any time in the city. i'm in maine or new hampshire much more (i'm closer to that side of the ma coastline).
